Certificate III in Surveying and Spatial Information Services

Certificate IV in Surveying and Spatial Information Services

These are offered by TAFEs ad Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) across Australia.
Graduates from these qualifications can work as Survey Technicians and Assistants.
This can be a stepping stone into a University degree (some credit transfer available)
University Pathways
To become a Licensed or Registered Surveyor which is a requirement for Land or Cadastral Surveyors in each jurisdiction, you'll need to complete an accredited university degree.

Registration Pathways
A Registered Surveyor is a land surveying professional who has met the legal education, training, examinations and licensing requirements set by a government authority or professional board.Â

Registered Surveyors are authorised to carry out official surveying work that can be used for legal, planning, engineering and property purposes.

Typical responsibilities include:

Measuring and defining land boundaries

Preparing subdivision and cadastral plans

Conducting topographic and engineering surveys

Certifying survey documents for land titles and development applications
